1. Overview
On July 9, 2025, President Trump announced his intent to nominate four individuals as ambassadors to Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Kazakhstan, according to the White House. Government departments actively amplified President Trump's agenda on social media. The State Dept retweeted numerous White House and Presidential statements regarding tariffs, USAID, welcoming African leaders, and NATO. Secretary Rubio retweeted HouseForeignGOP, stating "This is what an America First foreign policy looks like." The DOD highlighted Secretary Hegseth's meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and promoted hurricane season preparedness, while also reporting on USCG aircrews responding to Texas flooding. HHS focused on Harvard University's alleged failure to address antisemitism and shared comments from HHS Secretary on childhood diabetes and cell phone bans in schools, while Treasury highlighted Counselors comments on CPI and imported goods, tariff panic being unfounded and re-posted Iran sanctions. Commerce touted UBS CEO’s positive view on U.S. growth and linked Dr. Neil Jacobs' opening statement before the Senate Commerce Committee. Vice President Vance retweeted Mike Benz's (@MikeBenzCyber) statement about tariffs on Brazil and its "digital censor-state".
2028 Democratic presidential candidates addressed various issues on social media. Gavin Newsom focused on disaster relief efforts in other states, highlighting California's support for Texas, Oregon, and New Mexico, and statistics regarding California's own disaster assistance. Josh Shapiro promoted his Pennsylvania budget proposal, emphasizing minimum wage increases, reduced energy costs, and support for farmers, and highlighting elimination of red tape for healthcare workers. Gretchen Whitmer visited the Antiques Roadshow in Michigan, discussed accessibility initiatives for people with disabilities, and announced the expansion of the Michigan Developmental Disabilities Council. Wes Moore expressed concern about federal funding cuts impacting Maryland's hospitals, critiqued the President's "Big, Beautiful Bill", shared stories of Marylanders fearing healthcare loss, and warned that a SCOTUS ruling threatens federal workers in Maryland. JB Pritzker criticized Trump's education bill as a "major setback for students" and promoted Illinois' efforts to lower the cost of college. Tim Walz posted positive affirmations and mentioned bison meatball subs.
On July 8, 2025, the Senate passed Lulu's Law (S. 1003), mandating wireless emergency alerts for shark attacks, and progressed on nominations for key positions, including Jonathan Gould as Comptroller of the Currency and Whitney D. Hermandorfer as a judge. The Senate invoked cloture on Preston Griffith's nomination to Under Secretary of Energy (47-41) and Bryan Bedford's to FAA Administrator (47-42). Vote on confirming these nominations will occur no later than Wednesday, July 9, 2025. Key subcommittees approved their portions of the National Defense Authorization Act for fiscal year 2026. President Trump announced his intent to nominate four individuals as Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary. Nicholas Adams of Florida is nominated to Malaysia. Eric Meyer of California is nominated to the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.
Sean O’Neill of Virginia is nominated to the Kingdom of Thailand. Julie Stufft of Ohio is nominated to the Republic of Kazakhstan.

TRUST IN TRUMP: Sentiment Surges as Economy Booms
According to the White House news article, President Trump introduced his "America First trade agenda" in April. He advised, “Don’t be Weak! Don’t be Stupid! Don’t be a PANICAN … Be Strong, Courageous, and Patient, and GREATNESS will be the result!”
The article asserts that "President Trump was right (again)" regarding this advice.

Democrats Inspire Vicious, Escalating Attacks on ICE

President Trump announced a Presidential Delegation to Osaka, Japan, for the World Expo on July 19, 2025. "The Honorable Secretary Scott Bessent of the United States Department of the Treasury will lead the delegation."
The delegation members include: Ambassador George Glass; Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer of the Department of Labor; Deputy Secretary Christopher Landau of the Department of State; and Ambassador William E. Grayson, USA Pavilion Commissioner General, Expo 2025.
