1. Overview

President Trump and the First Lady joined military leaders, veterans, and families in Washington D.C. to celebrate the U.S. Army's 250th birthday. A grand parade honored the Army's legacy and heroes, with President Trump expressing unwavering certainty in the American Soldier's future victories. The DOD highlighted hosting "hundreds of thousands of proud Americans" at the Army's anniversary and shared top photos from the week and wished everyone a Happy Father's Day. The Treasury Dept retweeted the White House's statements about American identity and Father's Day.

Several 2028 Democratic presidential candidates posted on Twitter. Gavin Newsom wished California a Happy Father's Day and stated he was thinking of families separated by Donald Trump's "cruel deportation policies," asserting "this cruelty must end." Josh Shapiro reminded people to call their fathers and wished everyone a Happy Father's Day, advising fathers to "Just be present. Show up." Gretchen Whitmer celebrated two years of protecting natural hairstyles and wished a Happy Father's Day to Michiganders fulfilling the role of fatherhood. Wes Moore celebrated the Army's anniversary, stated Maryland is one of the best states for working dads, and reflected on the "joy, struggle, and responsibility" of fatherhood. JB Pritzker wished Illinois a happy Father's Day and stated, "we don't have kings in America — and I won't bend the knee to one."

The celebration included a parade and festivities honoring the Army's legacy and its heroes.

President Trump stated, "Tonight, we affirm with unwavering certainty that in the years ahead...the American Soldier will be there...our warriors will charge into battle...and they will seize the crown of victory because the United States of America will always have the grace of Almighty God and the iron will of the United States Army.” The event looked forward to the next 250 years of patriotism and military achievement.

Mass Deportation Order:
Trump orders ICE officers to execute the "largest Mass Deportation Operation of Illegal Aliens in History," focusing on cities like Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York.
