Josh Shapiro highlighted his investments in education and economic development, but denounced Pennsylvania's Republican congressional delegation for allegedly voting to cut healthcare and food assistance. Gretchen Whitmer criticized House Republicans' bill as cruel and urged the Senate to reject it. Following House passage of President Trump’s "One, Big, Beautiful Bill," various organizations and individuals have voiced their support. American Farm Bureau Federation praised the modernization of farm bill programs, while the U.S. Chamber of Commerce emphasized the need for "permanent tax relief." Airlines for America highlighted the $12.5 billion investment in modernizing the FAA, while National Cattlemen’s Beef Association noted the bill's investment in cattle health and disaster recovery resources.

Uber CEO celebrated the "No Tax On Tips" provision, and Job Creators Network lauded "historic tax cuts for small businesses." National Association of Manufacturers stated the bill "marks a major victory for manufacturers," while Business Roundtable commended efforts to extend President Trump’s tax reform. Support also came from energy, wholesale, small business, aviation, credit union, taxpayer, real estate, electrical contractor, hotel, pork producer, equipment distributor, school choice, growth energy, activist, foreign trade, land title, NRA, rate coalition, women's center and border security.

National Maritime Day, 2025

President Trump issued a proclamation declaring May 22, 2025, as National Maritime Day, commemorating the S.S. Savannah's historic transatlantic voyage. He highlighted the vital role of the United States Merchant Marine in national defense and economic strength. Merchant mariners support military operations by delivering troops and supplies and drive economic strength by transporting goods and materials. Trump stated that "America’s strength at sea has always been driven by the United States Merchant Marine."

He also noted his Executive Order on Restoring America’s Maritime Dominance to spur investment in shipbuilding, eliminate regulations, and expand training. He called upon Americans to observe the day and display the U.S. flag, requesting that all American ships "dress ship" on that day.
